Stephen Trimble

Stephen Trimble was born in Denver, his family's base for roaming the West with his geologist father. After a liberal arts education at Colorado College, he worked as a park ranger in Colorado and Utah, earned a Master’s Degree in Ecology at the University of Arizona, and served as director of the Museum of Northern Arizona Press. He has been a full-time freelance writer and photographer since 1981, and has published more than twenty books.

 

Trimble has received significant awards for his photography and writing including: The Sierra Club's Ansel Adams Award for photography and conservation; The National Cowboy Museum’s Western Heritage “Wrangler” Award; and a Doctor of Humane Letters from Colorado College, honoring his efforts to increase our understanding of western landscapes and peoples and his choice to remain a stubborn generalist. He will be discussing the newly released paperback edition of his book, Bargaining for Eden: The Fight for the Last Open Spaces in America. More

 

Jennifer Adams

Jennifer Adams received her degree in English Literature from the University of Washington in Seattle. She is the author of seven books and has worked as a writer and editor for fifteen years. Adams is currently senior editor for the publisher Gibbs Smith, where she manages the cookbook and children’s lines.  She will be discussing the content of her latest book, Remarkably Jane, which features quotes about Jane Austen’s work throughout the ages. More  

 

Katharine Coles

Katharine Coles, Utah Poet Laureate, has published two novels and four collections of poetry. Her poems and short stories have appeared in numerous periodicals and anthologies. Coles has a long history of professional and community service, and has received several awards for her work including the Utah Book Award.  She is currently an associate professor of English at the University of Utah. More

Sara Zarr

Sara Zarr is the acclaimed author of three novels for young adults: Story of a Girl (National Book Award Finalist),  Sweethearts (Cybil Award Finalist), and Once Was Lost (a Kirkus Best Book of 2009). Her short fiction and essays have also appeared in Image, Hunger Mountain, and several anthologies. She lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, with her husband. More
